Pink Purse Power!!
The Tri Turtle is thrilled to introduce “Pink Purse Power” to this year’s Tri Babes. The idea for this philanthropic project came specifically from the amazingly generous local fundraising efforts of Vets Pam Warner, Kim Duff, and Jane Clark. Given our incredible numbers, we have the opportunity to significantly support our community. So, each week, we will feature a different local charity effort. Tri Babes are encouraged to bring loose change and bills to the weekly Brick and deposit this money into the big Pink Purse!!! Whatever amount is collected will be donated to the charity that is being featured that week. To date, we have raised $58.82 for Jennifer Do’s Girl Scouts and $40.40 for Shelley Mortvedt (the local artist who graciously redesigned the Tri Babe shirts).
This week, at the June 6th Brick, we will be supporting Tri Babe Veteran Karen Twietmeyer. Her cousin, Tricia Ciccarelli, has been a long time participant in Relay For Life walking in honor of her mother and grandmother. Tricia had planned to walk this year and had pledged $1000. Unfortunately, Tricia unexpectedly passed away last month. A friend will be walking in her place. All Pink Purse proceeds will go toward meeting and exceeding Tricia's $1000 pledge. Karen and I and SURVIVORS everywhere thank you for your generous support.
